Subject: Satin Flycatchers in Florey
Hearing distinctive flycatcher calls from the neighbouring park at around
8.30 this morning, I went out with my bins and got some lovely views of a
resplendent male Satin Flycatcher, glistening blue-black in the sunshine.
Rushed back inside to get my camera and returned to find that its place
had been taken by a female flycatcher (orange throat). Unless there's
evidence to suggest that male Satin Flycatchers travel in company with
female Leaden Flycatchers, I'm going to assume that this was a Satin
Flycatcher pair travelling through. Last seen heading West.
