Hi All,
Just back from Hawaii where we saw an Umbrella Cockatoo on a perch in
the courtyard of a bakery/coffee shop on the island of Kaui'i.
On a first impression this bird had the appearance and voice of a
Sulphur Crested Cockatoo but instead of the crest the head feathers
took the shape of an umbrella when the bird became excited. The
plaque on the perch identified it as a bird from Indonesia.
Has anyone seen this bird in the wild and if so where does it occur?
It would be interesting to know if its range overlaps with the
Sulphur Crested?
Cheers,
Des Clark-Walker
