Hi Jack
On Saturday 1 Oct I spotted a female Sacred entering a hollow eucalypt
spout on the northern face of Mt Rogers.

Daryl

From the reports on this chat line etc, they certainly seem to be
here in
good numbers this spring, but even then they hadn't ventured into my
GBS yet (where I only seem to get occasional records since the
fires). However, there has been a real influx in the past few days
with at least 6 since Friday feeding in a tight group on Chauvel
Circle, and at least a similar number combined at a couple of spots in
the local area.
Also my first Sacred Kingfisher this spring on Cooleman Ridge
yesterday morning. Only one previous posting of this species on the
chat line so far, but I'm sure there would have been a few around.

I know they are a dime a dozen - but not in my GBS site. For the first
time ever I have recorded two birds. They are hanging around so they may
have a go at breeding. That, or feeding the plethora of untrammelled
moggies that infest our suburb.
