Geoffrey's comment about the rufous collars on the BSKs causes me to recall that the last two Black-shouldered Kites I have seen in the area were also patterned in this way. as there seems to have been something resembling an irruption of this species it might be interesting to get views on what proportion of the birds are adult or juvenile/immature.
