3 seen toddling along the bank of the Corang R. (near Nerriga) y’day: at first I heard what I’m now sure was their call but saw no birds except a whipbird and although the calls were v similar to the latter [ with 2 discrete sections], it was  not that; I watched it gleaning, silently, right to top of a v tall tree, unusual; then c. ½ hr later saw the pilotbirds and now feel sure it had been their calls, never before heard by me
