At The Pinnacle yesterday afternoon (top of Stringybark Forest) were a pair of Black Shouldered Kites. First time I have seen them in Canberra for a while. Perhaps mouse-related and maybe similar to Barn Owl sightings. I seem to recall a sighting recently but not sure by who- perhaps JB.  I went to look for flowers, mainly purple Hardenbergia, Indigofera, yellow Urn Heath. Pretty windy so birds were hard to see. Friarbirds, a treecreeper possibly on a nest. 2 rainbow lorikeets.
