More on Honeyeater migrations (not Fuscous though). I was told yesterday that at Sutton Forest (near Moss Vale) that "hundreds" of small birds were flying over. In discussion it became obvious they were travelling south, in waves, calling "chip, chip, chip" as they went flying from tree-top to tree-top. So, it is a second-hand report, but obviously large parties of Yellow-faced Honeyeaters are now moving a bit further west from Robertson. This area is close to where the late Mrs Crowe (from Berrima) regularly reported on YF Honeyeater migrations, over many years. Elizabeth Compston will recall those reports well. The tradition continues. Regards Denis Wilson On Tue, Sep 6, 2011 at 9:38 AM, Muriel Brookfield <> wrote: Correction (date)! -- Denis Wilson "The Nature of Robertson" www.peonyden.blogspot.com |
