In terms of the Garden Bird Survey we are currently in week 34. The table below, showing the number of observations of Friarbirds by week for around this time, shows that the count starts to kick up in this week. So I'd reckon about on time for a first return (there are obviously a few over-winterers, at least in some years).

Other than that MF was very quiet: Noisy Miners, Magpies, Black Ducks, Australasian Grebe, Yellow Rumped Thornbills, White throated Treecreeper, Grey Fantail and a pair of Masked Lapwings.
