Back in the days of the Ian Fraser phoneline I used to visit Callum Brae (then a farm lease) and Mount Mugga about equally. Although part of the same ridge as Red Hill nature park, Mount Mugga is more allied to Callum Brae which forms part of the same continuous woodland, setting aside the interruption of Mugga Lane.  In recent years, the bird population of Mount Mugga has declined significantly, so I visit less often  -  perhaps 3 or 4 times in Spring to check for raptors.  I attribute this to Noisy Miners, which colonised that side before becoming established on Callum Brae.  Nonetheless, it is an interesting walk from Hindmarsh Drive to the top of the hill.  Today still a few MFFs, including Speck Warblers, which I would expect to find there.  Also near the top a pair of Scarlet Robins at the spot where they have previously attempted to nest unsuccessfully.
