Sounds like a Crested Pigeon, but surely wider overall than 6 cm  -  one  egg would occupy a third of the width.  Perhaps I could take a look

Dear Anyone With Nest Knowledge,

 

Around six feet off the ground, a twiggy saucer not rubust looking and not larger than 6 cms in diameter, not many twigs, two large orangey-cream eggs, 1 and a half to 2 cm long. Situated in open twiggy growth of old shrubby plant.  Narrabundah.
