Having to deposit my car in Fyshwick for a big service today I went for a ride sort-of round Lake Burley Griffin.  My first call was FSP where the more interesting sightings were 12 Black -fronted Dotterels in the remaining mud of Pond 5, 11 Hardhead over Ponds 4 -7 and an Australian Raven on a nest between Pond 2 and the turf farm.  These will be Birdlined.

A single (male) Chestnut Teal was among about 40 Grey Teal on Kelly's Swamp.

Heading out West I noticed at least 6 Double-barred Finches beside the bike path where it goes under the new Caswell Drive and 2 Grey Currawongs in the small cork-oak plantation between the Pryor Arboretum and Scrivener Dam.

The swans are still causing chaos at Bowen Park: I think it is good to see the motorists all slowing down for them.  Also at Bowen Park (the Kingston version of that name) were 26 Magpies - possibly wondering why the food van isn't operating as a source of food for them!
