I'd also been wondering if its my memory. there are lots around
everywhere, but out in the Riverina I've been seeing big groups - near
Cocoparra a few weeks ago we saw huge group on the wires (probably a
hundred or so), then this past weekend I saw a couple of groups of
several dozen near Leeton.
The 'birds in backyards' website says on its peewee page:
"non-breeding and young birds form large nomadic flocks, sometimes
consisting of several thousand individuals"
