There
is a very pretty map of the Australian National Botanic Gardens (ANBG) found on
this site.
www.anbg.gov.au/images/maps/anbg-map-export.jpg
However,
It only gives major landmarks.
A
larger map with all the section numbers is at
http://www.anbg.gov.au/images/maps/section-map-march04.pdf
however
it contains few names.
And,
here you go again, Geoffrey, assuming your readers have been here for all of the
past four years and have the same access to said archives as yourself.
The
Kiosk at the ANBG (already written in full, as is correct) is a really good
place for information, their phone number is 6250 9540.

A
search in the archive for ‘Tom Green Seat’ provides details of its location and
placement, just 4 years ago. There have been many references to it since
then. Would anyone be happier with ‘’along the gravel path north of the
kiosk’’?

Julian,
I
have a slight problem with this chatline. Many (perhaps most) of the
contributors have been around this region for a long time, know each other well
and know the local lingo/acronyms/shorthand for species. There appears to
be an assumption that all readers do, or ought to, know exactly what/where they
are talking about. Outsiders must feel, sometimes, that they are just
that... outsiders, hearing but not being a part of someone else’s private
conversation.
Having
said that, the information that has been generously given to me by COG members
when requested has invariably been useful, to which I owe them a million
thanks.
