On the northern shore of Pond 5 this afternoon, amongst several magpie larks, there were two or three smaller birds.
The one to the right of this (poor) photo is, I think, a Black-fronted Plover, but the smaller one to the left (which I missed through binoculars) I am uncertain about.
It looks to be about half/two-thirds the size of the righthand BfPlover, and has what appears to be a black bar through the eye but no black band across the breast (?a young BfPlover?).
Advice welcome.

A light form Little Eagle came and perched in the pine trees to the south of the ponds, and then circled up on the blustery winds.
