This morning I went out into the backyard before dawn and, looking
back at the house, saw a possum running along the roof-ridge. It was
making an unusual, rustling noise and I noticed that it had its tail
curled around a bunch of dried leaves. I assume it was transporting
these back to its nest. I had never realised that Brush-tailed Possums
used their tails for anything other than balance before.
