While walking Oakey Hill this morning I flushed approx 15 - 20 Quail from long grass beside the bitumen road.  I had no idea they were there until they took flight in three separate bursts, each a couple of seconds apart.  I suspect they were Brown Quail as the impression I got was of brown bodies and wings disappearing swiftly into the distance.  Also seen were 6 Gang-gangs, while Weebills were very vocal.

In Wanniassa last week 2, perhaps 3, Rainbow Lorikeets .  Grey Butcherbird and Kookaburra also heard at the same location.

Re the Honeyeater migration, at almost every location I have visited over the last couple of weeks, from Charnwood to Queanbeyan, Watson to Weston to Wanniassa, I have either seen or heard Yellow-faced Honeyeaters passing overhead (mostly in small numbers, no opportunity for a count).  I guess that says something about the geographic scale of the whole migration.

Cheers
