A good season, free of frosts when flowering & setting of fruit, has result in a bumper apple crop
at Paringa.
Of late it has been a race against the usual raiders in the Crimson Rosellas, the Satin Bowerbirds
and Helen & me to collect fruit for the summer/autumn apple stewing season.
But this year has seen a greater influx of bowerbirds; to date only one mature male seen but many green/bronze birds. Indicates a successful breeding season? Great to hear their calls & squabbling
throughout the garden.
I think they 'smell' the fruit in Captains Flat then commence their raiding? C/Flat seems to have a
resident flock of b/birds.

Steve.
