as indicated by Margaret last week - Tharwa Sandwash is alive with
birds. I was there from 8am this morning, while the sun was out.
Rainbow bee-eaters (I had 8 in view at one point), speckled warblers,
diamond firetails, more yellow-faced honeyeaters than one could count,
both flitting around and flying overhead in groups of up to about 20,
red-browed finches, double-barred finches, goldfinches, black-fronted
dotterels ... - its a good time to get out there if you've not been
for a while. I saw over 35 species in about an hour and a half.
