went to the ANBG today and found Red-browed Firetails building or repairing a nest in the rock garden area. The nest looked fairly finished, but they were carrying long strands of grass to it.
Hope it is still OK. It's in the area that is being transformed into the Australian Alpine Display. When I passed by there later in the day the workers had returned from their lunch break and the digger arm was very close to the bush with the nest - about 50cm away from it. You can find it when you take the stairs to the right of the waterfall and turn left. It's in the highest bush in that first bed, just behind the workers barrier.
