Hi all,
the ACT Government will not do anything about feral bird problems without strong recommendation from a reputable organisation such as COG.

In the early '80 the ACT govt removed Mallards and feral geese from Canberra's lakes at the recommendation of COG I think because Mallards are known to interbreed with P Black Duck and the geese weren't native.

CIMAG the Canberra Indian Myna Action Group is a volunteer organisation that evolved after someone designed an effective small trap for catching mynas and consist of citizens concerned about the displacement of native birds such as Eastern and Crimson Rosellas, Kookaburras and Galahs. It has no fanancial support from the government.

I don't think anything will be done about STDs unless COG takes up the cudgel or a separate group springs up. I'm willing to be part of such an organisation but I don't have good organising skills to initiate and run it.
