I saw the Diamond Dove at 1:40pm this afternoon at the same location as
the others
(thanks for the clarification, Jack!) I saw it on the track where it
starts to turn north;
I froze and it ran several metres further up the track, but fortunately
didn't flush.
It eventually settled down under a clump of paspalum, and I had
excellent views of
this exquisite little bird.
Philip: I wondered about escapees too. There were cockatiels and
lorikeets calling
from a house across the road from the carpark. However, the plumage on
the dove
looked fine to me.
