Hi Margaret

it's a juvenile Blackbird.

There are a few around, usually in gardens.
I find them "subdued" compared to the quite prominent songbirds I grew up with in Germany. The Song of the Blackbird is one of the things that will still get me homesick after all this time living here.

Cheers, Susanne

I shot this at the Jerrabomberra wetlands this evening.  It was a long way off and the light all in the wrong place, so, with apologies, this frame was the best of a terrible batch.  Judging by the silvereyes and Euro goldfinches that were around at the time, I would say this was the size of a blackbird, or even a little bigger.  It’s got me puzzled.

Thank you all

Margaret Leggoe
