I've been seeing a lot more Bronzewing pigeons than in previous years, at the rate of several sightings a week recently, both within Canberra and out in the surrounding country. Today it was a dark brown pigeon that flew rapidly across in front of us as we were riding West along Cotter Road near the Dunrossil Drive turnoff. It came from the Dunrossil Drive direction and went off across the Curtin horse paddocks. I only had it in view for a couple of seconds but the colour looked rather dark for a Common Bronzewing.
