Well picked up Matthew.  I can't remember what I searched on, but I missed Steve's report.

Knowing it is there I tried searching using the top box on various keys.  Neither 'swift; swifts, needle nor needletail hit on Steve's message.  However "Needletails" produced both his message and mine.  So I guess you get what you ask for.

There was an ealier report to the chat-line of 10+ WTN on 15 Dec: http://bioacoustics.cse.unsw.edu.au/archives/html/canberrabirds/2010-12/msg00124.html which is the only other report apart from Martin's that I can recall seeing.  I have been looking for them this past week, but haven't seen any yet.

Martin reported some recently. But that is very few. Maybe with all the rain systems further north, few are coming this far south.........
