Hi Margaret
I believe they are Sawfly
Larvae.
However, not sure why they are coming from the Case
Moth case.
Possible predation?
If you scroll through Chew Family's Brisbane
Insects page, there are images like yours for Melaleuca Sawfly.
There is no mention on that page of Sawflies
laying egg in caterpillars. On the contrary, there is talk of them being subject
to such predation by flies and wasps.
Maybe the grub in still OK inside the
case?
