They do seem to be more widespread this year but without systematically
bringing them all to account, the difficulty of which has been previously
noted, we won't know.  The experience around here has been rather different
from the last two years.  Instead of the presumed Griffith bird coming up
for a half-day stint and giving prolonged calls from only 3 preferred
stations, I hear the presumed Griffith bird only occasionally and distantly.
There is a presumed second bird that seems to be based around Finniss
Crescent.  It passes by here in the early morning and moves through fairly
quickly.  Its spells of calling are quite brief and tentative, with a high
proportion of 'wirra-wirras'.  I speculate that the pattern of movement is
as much related to feeding as to breeding, but I haven't actually seen any
feeding as yet.
