The photo is a Caspian Tern and yes they are often found inland on big lakes etc. Same for the Gull-billed Tern.

I think I have shot a Caspian tern (in Fremantle, WA), but I would appreciate confirmation.  Also, I thought terns were sea birds, but my book has this species ranging over all of Australia bar the Western desert country.  Is this correct?
