I too was feeling that the numbers had dropped and I thought I was recording them less in my GBS. However, when I look at my GBS records for September and October it does not appear to be unusual. They generally start to be regulars again in my GBS from the last week of November, usually with young attached.  For many years SPs records for my place would only start in the last week of November or first week of December and there would be none after January.  There has been a noticeable change in recent years with some now appeariung in September.  My son reported large numbers feeding near a river well to the west of the ACT on Sunday but I have not checked it out to see if it a breeding area.
