At around 2:30pm this afternoon, there was a Painted Honeyeater calling
loudly
in the mistletoe to the left of the horse gate. It was chased/scared
off by a
Grey Butcherbird, who in turn had several small birds in hot pursuit of
it, but
landed in the dead tree on the other side of the fence and continued
calling.
Also of interest were a Noisy Friarbird stealing nesting material from an
Olive-backed Oriole, two Shingleback lizards on the main track to the
horse gate (one with two large ticks in its "armpit") and a beautifully
marked
Blue-tongued Lizard.
