The biomass in the Antarctic is mind blowing. It is one thing to read about it and another to actually see it. I visited the Antarctic in 2000. I had gone to see the landscapes, which were beautiful but it was the amount of birds, seals, whales etc. that was truly marvelous. The smell of a large penguin colony is just something else. Odeur de penguin stayed in my travel clothes for some time.
