Dear sir/madam,

I am writing to inform you of the upcoming Lifeline Canberra Spring 2010 Bookfair. One of our volunteers has suggested that the members of your organisation might be interested to know more about this exciting event, as we have a wide range of books and magazines in categories that may interest your members.

Some information about the Bookfair is provided below – in both a longer and a shorter version. I would greatly appreciate it if you could circulate this information to your members if there is an opportunity during the next two weeks, for example in a newsletter or an email update.

Thanking you in advance,

Helen Dawson (Lifeline Canberra Bookfair volunteer)

For more than 35 years Lifeline Canberra has been offering crisis telephone counselling to the people of Canberra and the surrounding region. Counselling is possible because of the dedication of some 200 trained volunteers who fill shifts to ensure that the phone will be answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Lifeline Bookfairs raise a major portion of the funding needed to keep the Lifeline Canberra telephone counselling lines available to the community.

The Lifeline Canberra Bookfair is one of the best second hand book sales in Australia, with over 200,000 books in 148 categories to choose from. You can also find rare and collectable books, numerous magazines, pamphlets, ephemera, DVDs, videos, CDs, records, games, software, and lots more.

Entry is by gold coin donation. The Spring Bookfair will be better than ever, with extra space around the tables and two huge marquees.

Spring 2010 Sunday Extra: There will be a special sale in the Kakadu Room on Sunday 26 September for the collectors amongst us. It will have an eclectic mix of general miscellanea and military reference material for the collector/modeller/enthusiast. Material will include ephemera, books, part works, magazines, DVDs and videos relating to military, transport, technology, and collecting in general.

For more information about the Bookfair, phone (02) 6247 0655 or (02) 6241 2901, email or view our website at www.act.lifeline.org.au/bookfair.aspx.
