Hi Sue
Sorry I didn’t come this morning –
I thought when I looked out at 6.30 am that it would be too wet and foggy!
Does Cog always continue whaterver? I wish I had followed my instinct and
come out!
Instead I went to Kambah pool when the sun
came out. On the KP road I saw about 8 Dusky Wood Swallows, about 10
Welcome Swallows – 12 Red Rumped parrots - Thornbills, then
on to the pool – not a lot to be seen but plenty to hear. Best was
a Spotted Pardalote seen at close range (gorgeous), a White Throated Treecreeper
and a Grey Shike Thrush (curious about me).
3 Black Faced Cuckoo Shrikes came through
the back garden probably after sparrows next door.

A week is a long time in politics - and in birding. The COG walk
at Newline today produced just one Dusky Woodswallow, compared to a dozen last
Saturday, 18 DB Finch (about 6 last week), a Grey Currawong and 2 GST (none
last week), no Fuscous HE (11 last week) or Southern Whiteface. No
raptors last week, but 2 Little Eagle (one light, one dark) and 2 WT Eagle
today. No sign of the White-bellied CS. It was particularly
pleasing to see 2 Brown Treecreepers.
