Subject: Time for another quiz (2)
As threatened: instalment 2. Some countries have
found it convenient to issue stamps for their dependant territories
- called dependencies, territories or whatever, ‘colonies’ being no
longer in polite use. For purposes of the stamps the dependency is
nominally a separate place. Here are 10 birds from such stamps. One
point for each species correctly named, one point for name (without being too
technical) of each dependency as it was at the time.
Hints: All species now occur at the relevant place
except one (I think only one) that is locally extinct. Two are
introductions. Some stamps go back a bit, perhaps 60 years.
