Tina, while the scarlet has been reported on this line since the middle of March, it certainly isn't around here (NW Chapman and Cooleman Ridge and the former Narrabundah Hill pine plantation) in anywhere the same numbers as usual for this time of the year. In fact I've hardly seen one.

The Flame Robin has also been slow this year, though I saw at least 9, including 1 possibly 2 males, in the SW corner of the old pine forest yesterday morning, the first for the season.

This spot is easily the best in the local area at the moment, with the Restless Flycatcher still present there yesterday, also some Dusky Woodswallows (though down on the previous two weeks), Diamond Firetails, Southern Whiteface, Brown Quail calling, and a group of 8 Black-faced Cuckoo-shrikes moving through.
