Country cemeteries can be reasonably good places for
birds. Their character varies from the neat to the scattered, from the
well-tended to the derelict, from the well-watered to the utterly desiccated. The
one at Boorowa (now evidently ‘full’, because a newer site nearby
is in operation) is worth a visit. It is definitely in the country, and lies
on a shallow ridge overlooking the town, sprawling on one side down a lateral
slope. Its population must far exceed that of the current Boorowa.
Under the lowering sky of rainy Tuesday it was peaceful and impressive.
As you can see, there were also a few birds.
