A friend who lives in Poppet Lane Wamboin has reported a flock of up to a dozen Rainbow Lorikeets over the past few days.  They have mainly been dining on nectar from Euc macrorhynca which is flowering heavily (with much nectar) in that area - as it is in Carwoola.  They may also have been feeding on fruit ina neighbours place.

On a more mundane note the first Sacrlet Robin of the season has appeared in my GBS site.   Checking my records that is dead on schedule.

We have also noticed largeish - 10+ birds - of Red-browed Finches hanging out in our vegetable patch.  The timing is again bang on schedule for the species appearing here and the numbers are similar to last year (although larger than in 2007 or 2008).
