After the excellent launch of BoCG2 this morning I headed off to Golburn. En route it was pleasing to see that there was still visible water in many places on Lake George. If we get the folloow up prmised by several forecasters the lake could be back to rather soggy quite soon. In Goulburn, given recent history, it was surprising - and pleasing - to see people mowing lawns! Basically it looked like Ireland. I had a few hours to fill in while a roo-bar and spotlights were fitted to El Camion Real so had taken the MTB with me. I devoted 40km to investigating grid-cells Z1 and Y1. I scored 35 species intotal and in due course will submit 3 data sheets. No greatly unusual species - very litle in flower and the water birds have not yet identified the number of frogs as a good food source. However there seem to be a few good remnant euc sites in the area. Martin |
