Nice - the two dark wasps appear to be flower wasps of family Tiphiidae - the orange one on the far right is a potter wasp (Vespidae - subfamily Eumenidae - possibly Eumenes latreillei), so called because of the mud nests they build to store caterpillars for their larvae.

cheers

Masses of wild fennel in flower at the moment, thickets of it 2m high and all going to waste.    A reference to â??wild fennelâ?? is compulsory on the menu of any decent restaurant.  Very useful for porchetta stuffing, for example, not to mention using the bulb for asafoetida  -  and as a herbal remedy it fixes just about everything.  Apart from bees itâ??s attracting all kinds of insects.  I canâ??t tell you what these ones are but perhaps someone can.
