This morning (10.30) went out to the front yard in response to a bird call - it sounded like a dependent young Red Wattlebird that we'd experienced before in the yard, but thought there was something a little different - maybe the time factor for DY RWB's - I don't know.
In the Irish Strawberry tree at the front was a young Common Koel cheeping. A RWB came into it which I thought was chasing it away and before I could get the camera they both headed around the back into the Chinese Elm. Then persued buy at least 3 Currawongs. It held its ground until the RWB came back and fed it. Then the chase was on. 2 more Currawongs entered the frey as well as C Mynas and even a SC Cockatoo was not to be left out. It was quite amazing with all this activity going on and the RWB attending to its feeding needs. This went on from tree to tree around my GBS when finally 20 minutes later they'd all had enough and left.
