Came home today to find 9 Crested Pigeons perched on the
T-bar of the telegraph pole and associated wires that are above the back fence.
What struck me as interesting was that 8 of them were clearly juveniles. The
one adult was a meter away down the wire with a much bigger crest. They
did not seem inclined to fly away until the adult made the move after something
else, not me, triggered its flight response. Is a “creche” like
this a known habit because my understanding is that Crested Pigeons only
produce two eggs per clutch?
