My brother, Brian reported hearing and then seeing the following:
  • 2 X Rainbow Lorikeets over See Place, Curtin at 6:05 PM today 5/1/10.
  • Recognised by call first and then by sight in the Crab Apple Tree (in his front lawn)
Brian subsequently commented that he is familiar with the species having "baby sat" a caged specimen for a family member for many, many months.
But that is another issue.

He does know the species, and knows it is uncommon in Canberra.

Cheers
