Steve   -   I replied directly to Margaret because I was making my cracked-record point about limitations of photos for ID particularly of distant raptors where you don't get the flight pattern but just the wing-stroke frozen at a particular instant.  I mentioned a harrier because of the reddishness which was created by the saturation.  Colour-saturation does not help ID because it brings out unnatural reddish tones among other things.  Here is an unlikely colour-saturated W Kite:

Another possibility I mentioned, given the location, was a Brown Falcon.  That has the extreme ‘V’ configuration, as well as fingered wingtips if the ‘freeze’ is at the right instant:

Margaret & Geoffrey --

I have been catching up on some emails.  Am surprised at the quick

response to my email at 12-03pm.

coming in at 12-16 & 12-15 respectively.  You people must be sitting and

waiting.

Margaret -- please don't "trash your dud photos ----".   The chatline is

there for such a reason as yours.

I wonder how many cogers read the email and took the image as  gospel

without giving it some thought.

Even Geoffrey's initial thoughts were of an harrier which I didn't know.

You are definitely not "stirring up any controversy'' at all, just

making me observe & think.

Keep up the good work and best of luck with your eyes & the optometrist.

Steve.
