The Spotted Dove is a species that needs monitoring in our region to determine if or when the point comes that an eradication program is needed. So far as I know we do not have any confirmed breeding in the ACT, though Harvey Perkins has recorded the Spotted Dove displaying in his GBS site at Kambah. Please ensure that any breeding behaviour in the ACT is recorded in COG's Atlas data base cogatlas.org.au .

We have conformed breeding records for the species from Queanbeyan, NSW.

Hi Philip

Over the last five years I have seen or heard them on a fairly regular basis at two properties in Kambah, one in Vanzetti Cres and the other in Menzie Place.  (Menzie Place also occasionally visited by a small flock of Double-barred Finches)

Cheers

In my 24 years at this place I think I have had one prior observation of Spotted Turtle-Doves in my GBS site in Kambah. This morning I heard one here (whilst still in bed) and on going out mid morning saw two of them, one, presumed male doing the bowing cooing display to another, presumed female, on the power lines at the front of my house.
