This morning I was doing a bird survey at Urambi Hills. On my way out I flushed a LBQ barely 50 metres from Learmonth Drive. I was able to follow the bird through binoculars as it flew for about 100 metres before going to ground. Am pretty confident with the ID, based on small size of the bird, white belly and flanks, and pale brown upperparts.

If coming from Athllon Drive the site is maybe 150 metres up on the left side of Learmonth Drive not far before the houses start. GPS 35 24 11 / 149 03 43. There is a small parking area near a gate. The bird was in a fairly extensive area of tall, dry, exotic grass between Learmonth Drive and an access gate into the Urambi Hills Nature Reserve.

cheers

Steve
