Hi Rob,

Well, words like so common are of course relative and subject to differences in interpretation, certainly the birds are here and conspicuous. Actually they are not common in the ACT at any time of year. The GBS Report and the Atlas make it very clear what time of year they are here (warm months). Quite apart from my role and interest in the former, I still recommend that people with an interest in local birds should have both of these sources.  They are both based on huge amounts of data collected over the years, mostly by COG members and both were written with great care for the benefit primarily of COG and local people interested in our birds. .

Nice pic, Robin!  Thanks to everyone who responded.  I had no idea that Dollar Birds were so common in the ACT at any time of year.  Chances are that I did hear one after all. :)

Hi All,
Has anyone seen any Dollar Birds in Canberra in the last couple of weeks? I heard a call early in the morning on the weekend which I'm reasonably certain was a Dollar Bird, in the Kambah area. No, I didn't visually observe it.
