Good morning, Sue. What were you doing on O’Connor
Ridge on a Tuesday morning? According to the Big H, CBs will nest in all
sorts of places, including: ‘on top of old drey of Common
Ring-tailed Possums ... or disused nest of babbler ... or White-winged Chough’.
I did not see the frogmouth in the chough nest, but a few years
ago at Campbell Park there was certainly a bronzewing in a chough nest. I
believe Elizabeth found it. I think I have video of it somewhere.

At O'Connor Ridge yesterday morning, in adjacent trees were
2 chough nests, one unsurprisingly occupied by a chough with attendants close
by, and the other occupied by a firmly ensconced and gently "omming"
Common Bronzewing. Has anyone seen or heard of this before? (Alas,
I do not own HANZAB). I remember the Tawny Frogmouth occupying a chough's
nest at Campbell Park a few years ago, but didn't know bronzewings were also
squatters.
