Subject: | YTBC dy and Boobook in Florey |

An unfamiliar call from next door's hakea turned out to be a young
Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoo begging, very insistently. Its parents
stuck their heads out of the hakea long enough to take a good look at me
and then went back to foraging. First time I've seen a dependent young
YTBC in Canberra.
On another note (so to speak), I heard a Boobook calling from not too
far away the other night. First time this Spring.
