There seems to have been quite a few reports of PBQs this year but I don't know whether this means they have become more or less uncommon. It may be that folk have focussed on them a bit more. Sightings that I am aware of have come from: Mulligan's Flat NR (several), Gungahlin Hill NR, Black Mountain NR (several), and Coolemon Ridge.

Did you spot platelets as well?

regards

Con

I have been overseas for 6 months but since my return 3 weeks ago I have twice flushed single Painted Button-Quails in the woodland on Stirling Ridge, Yarralumla. These are the first sightings for at least the last 3 years. I believe they breed irregularly there; some summers, I have had repeated sightings and other summers, none. There are many foxes in the area, and no doubt feral cats.
