Hi Martin
I recorded all those species in my blitz count
except for the Triller. Didn't see or hear one. The Cicadabird was
first seen in a tree where two Black-faced cuckoo-shrikes were
foraging. I saw 4 BFCS altogether. Later I had the Cicadabird and
two Grey Shrikethrushes quite close together in one tree and all in the binos at
once. It was helpful to see the comparability of size. The C-bird is
a little bigger and stouter than the GSTs. There were Southern Whiteface
(4) and a pair of Mistletoebirds near where the C-bird was seen. The male
M-bird just glowed in the sunlight. I don't remember seeing one so
bright. The books can't capture the real thing.
I walked to the quarry, but, except for a bunch of
ducks, there wasn't much of interest along there. A Grey Butcherbird
chasing a raven was the most interesting sight.
