late morning Jamie Begg and I saw 2 sacred kingfishers engaged in quite spectacular flight at Tharwa Sandwash - at times only a metre or so apart, flying at speed, did not seem to be territorial. At one stage they passed within a metre or so of us - we watched on and off for about 10 mins. I'm presuming (although can't find it mentioned anywhere) that this was a courtship display? have never seen this behaviour from SKs in the past.
